چکیده

We study the finite size scaling of the spin stiffness for the one-dimensional s = 1 2 quantum antiferromagnet as a function of the anisotropy parameter ∆. Previous Bethe ansatz results allow a determination of the stiffness in the thermodynamic limit. The Bethe ansatz equations for finite systems are solvable even in the presence of twisted boundary conditions, a fact we exploit to determine the stiffness exactly for finite systems allowing for a complete determination of the finite size corrections. Relating the stiffness to thermodynamic quantities we calculate the temperature dependence of the susceptibility and its finite size corrections at T = 0. A Luttinger liquid approach is used to study the finite size corrections using renormalization group techniques and the results are compared to the numerically exact results obtained using the Bethe ansatz equations. Both irrelevant and marginally irrelevant cases are considered. PACS. 7 5.10.-b, 75.10.Jm, 75.40.Mg

Phase diagram of the XXZ chain with next-nearest-neighbor interactions

We calculate the quantum phase diagram of the XXZ chain with nearestneighbor (NN) J1 and next-NN exchange J2 with anisotropies ∆1 and ∆2 respectively. In particular we consider the case ∆1 = −∆2 to interpolate between the XX chain (∆i = 0) and the isotropic model with ferromagnetic J2. For ∆1 < −1, a ferromagnetic and two antiferromagnetic phases exist. For |∆i| < 1, the boundary between the di...

Competition of Ferromagnetic and Antiferromagnetic Order in the Spin-1/2 Xxz Chain at Finite Temperature

An analytical study is presented of the crossover in the gapless attractive XXZ chain from antiferromagnetic to ferromagnetic behaviour at low to high temperature, respectively. In particular, an analytic formula for the crossover in the long distance asymptotics and explicit results for the nearest-neighbour longitudinal correlation are obtained. We also provide results for the specific heat a...

XX and Ising limits in integral formulae for finite temperature correlation functions of the XXZ chain

We consider a multiple integral representation for a one-parameter generating function of the finite temperature Sz-Sz correlation functions of the antiferromagnetic spin-1/2 XXZ chain in the XX limit and in the Ising limit. We show how in these limits the multiple integrals reduce to single integrals, thereby reproducing known results. PACS: 05.30.-d, 75.10.Pq †e-mail: [email protected]...

Asymmetric XXZ chain at the antiferromagnetic transition: spectra and partition functions

The Bethe ansatz equation is solved to obtain analytically the leading finite-size correction of the spectra of the asymmetric XXZ chain and the accompanying isotropic 6vertex model near the antiferromagnetic phase boundary at zero vertical field. The energy gaps scale with size N as N−1/2 and their amplitudes are obtained in terms of level-dependent scaling functions. Exactly on the phase boun...

We study the phase diagram of S = 3/2 and S = 2 bond-alternating spin chains numerically. In previous papers, the phase diagram of S = 1 XXZ spin chain with bond-alternation was shown to reflect the hidden Z2 ×Z2 symmetry. But for the higher S Heisenberg spin chain, the successive dimerization transition occurs, and for anisotropic spin chains the phase structure will be more colorful than the ...
